Reconstructing the Fourthwall πŸ”¨

Three days ago, I was putting a post together to show examples of what items could be made out of a Silly Lil' Doodles order, and wanted to include a kisscut sticker. I went over to Fourthwall to do this and was met with a window talking about upgrading to a Pro account.

I didn't understand what that was about; it seemed like something optional, so, I clicked out, and tried to select another product. The window came back and wouldn't allow me to proceed without upgrading...(This sounds a bit familiar...) I was feeling a bit panicked at this point. What the heck was happening?! I went to products page on dash to figure out what was wrong, and there was a highlighted message at the top of my listings that I reached the 100-product limit! I didn't remember such a thing ever existing on this site! When was that implemented?! Turns out this change happened back in August, due to the way the site is growing and to minimize spam...

So now, I have to either archive certain items...delete them...pay $19 a month...or $180 a year...πŸ˜•

Maybe I will upgrade one day, but I can't afford it right now.

I'll just have to be more selective with what I put up until then. 🀷🏾‍♀️

If there's anything you've ever wanted to buy from my Fourthwall shop, please buy it this month. After February 28th, I'm going to start cutting back on the current listings. I haven't fully decided what items are leaving...I've already archived all my "T'is the Season" listings and the Pro message hasn't gone away...

SLD will continue to be sold through the site, but all tiers will be closed on February 8th.  I'm going to restructure my selling approach with video promos, practice creating vectors in Affinity and maybe see if there's anything I want to change about the rules...or the pricing since the free plan has a 5% fee on digital products now. I'm also closing the tiers because I want to focus on making designs for a couple of new characters that should be debuting in this half of the year. πŸ‘€

These changes to my Fourthwall account kinda make me want to revive my Redbubble shop. 😬 I was thinking that maybe I could do my best to clone the leaving products, over there. RB is one of the very few platforms that allow for pattern making. I closed it because of their artist tiers putting me in the lowest one. (And I recently learned that they added on to these fees last September, making a new wave of people angry at them...)

Teepublic put me in their highest tier and I feel like they're more worth it, but...I'm thinking more about visibility and convenience. Redbubble has a more widely-recognized name. In spite of it all, artists still sell on there. People still go to Redbubble to buy things. And while they don't pay the way they used to, it will add up at some point...if we're still able to put links in the descriptions of our listings, I could post some from my blogsite to give more information about the designs. That could cause viewers to come to my other accounts! They could end up buying from shops that pay better! Y'never know! Maybe my return will go so well, that I could even make it out of the lowest tier! ...I might be getting ahead of myself with that one, but yeah, I just hope that something surprisingly good comes out of this.

If you would like to support me and my business, but don't want to buy anything, you can donate to me on Fourthwall! You can also help by sharing links to my content with others! I'm open to suggestions, too. What types of things would you like to see me create? What platforms do you think my content would be a good fit for? Send me an e-mail through the "≡" menu on the homepage or drop a comment below!

I got a lot of things planned for this year and hope that it'll be a major one for my brand.

Let's see how it goes!
